Development Engineer (m/f) Gas Turbines
We are looking for you to join our R&D Execution business unit based in Baden, Switzerland. Due to the worldwide demand for clean electric power production, advanced technology is the key differentiator for competitive gas turbine engines.
Your tasks: Create designs and concept studies for gas turbine components according to customer specifications taking into account lifetime, performance, assembly as well as cost targets • Apply Alstom development processes and use appropriate design tools and standards • Iterate your component design with other development teams of Performance, Aerodynamics, Combustion, Cooling, Lifing and Stress Calculation • Issue and check manufacturing specifications of your components • Document your design solutions in technical reports • Ensure the integration of field feedback into your design for continuous improvement • Support manufacturing process development with feedback to Quality and Logistics • Assume responsibility for handling non-conformances in production and manufacturing change requests• Adapt design for manufacturability • Prepare design review material and capture lessons learned
Your profile: • University degree in engineering or equivalent • Min. 3 years of industrial experience in engineering and/or turbo machinery commissioning • Specialist know-how of mechanical design and/or mechanical integrity • Good understanding of related areas such as design, thermodynamics and engine operation • Fluency in English • Ability to act on your own initiative • Reliable, open-minded and solution-oriented team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude
