Manage and optimize – Your responsibilities

The Service Management division of Media-Saturn IT Services GmbH is responsible for the operation of all our IT systems and applications.

We are currently looking for several IT application support specialists (m/f) for database and applications servers. Your responsibilities focus on the following:

You operate web application servers and the associated database systems on Windows Server and SuSE Linux Enterprise Server platforms, as well as the applications that run on these platforms
You carry out your work using ITIL service management processes (e.g. incident and problem management in the context of 2nd level support)and check the systems regularly with regard to stability, performance and errors
You maintain, update and expand the systems in coordination with other departments, business units and external service providers
You manage the external service providers involved with the operational environment relating to the databases
You analyze / eliminate errors on the web application and database servers and coordinate necessary changes to the applications, operating systems, hardware and networks with the appropriate departments and business units

Know-how and drive – Your profile

If you enjoy working independently and are willing to work hard, we can be a success together. You should be a team player and a person with a high level reliability. You should have a logical-analytical approach and solving technical problems should be second nature to you. You should also bring with you:

A degree in (business) information technology or similar area, comparable vocational training or comparable job experience
At least two years of experience in the administration of web application and database servers
Extensive experience in the administration of JBoss and/or ColdFusion, Apache and/or Internet Information Server (IIS)
Extensive experience in the administration of Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL on Microsoft Windows Server or SuSE Linux Enterprise Server platforms
Experience with the applications Tomcat Samba and solidDB databases is desirable
A very good command of written and spoken English, good skills in German language as an advantage
