CERN is currently looking for a
Building Technician

Are you a building technician, experienced in the execution and/or supervision of civil engineering and building works? Take part in the coordination of civil engineering works in the largest particle physics research organization in the world: CERN.

Functions

* Daily coordination of multidisciplinary work teams including external contractors and reporting of the contractors' work on the site.
* Providing assistance to the project managers in charge of the realization of the works.
* Drafting technical documentation and issuing orders for external contractors.
* Acting as internal liaison with other CERN services for electrical, plumbing, heating works etc.
* Participation in site meetings for safety, coordination and progress.
* Collaboration with the CERN safety group, contractors and other CERN groups to ensure a safe working environment.
* Follow up of the planning of the works.
* Participation to the reception of the completed projects.
* Verify monthly and final measurements with contractors.

Experience and competencies

* At least 5 years' proven professional experience in the execution and/or supervision of civil engineering and building works.
* Experience with project quality management systems.
* Knowledge of the safety rules applicable on the worksite.
* Experience of working in radiation controlled areas.
* Asbestos removal.
* Building renovation.
* Underground maintenance.
* Civil engineering: industrial and civil building construction, underground structure construction and metallic structure construction.
