- Lead, develop and execute innovative, effective and comprehensive acquisition, up-sell and retention strategies online and offline for the Spanish market, with a focus on customer value. - Use a broad spectrum of communication and promotion channels primarily online, but also offline where applicable (e.g. SEO, PPC, database email and direct mail marketing, affiliates, display advertising, targeted partnerships, competitions and games, social networking, mobile, printed classified advertising, magazines?). - Ensure alignment of the marketing plan to the global strategy of the group whilst exploiting local opportunities. - Develop and drive B2C marketing plans inclusive of objectives and timely schedule. - Direct marketing (both email and postal mail) are of particular importance - using data and analysis to drive decisions, devise and execute campaigns that are engaging and deliver performance. - Effectively utilise sophisticated database/email broadcast technology. - Manage quantitative data to track, measure and analyze performance for each activity to deliver and demonstrate on-going optimisation. - Assess market opportunities and competitive threats on a regular basis, and propose effective action plans. - Adhere to the company's brand values and ensure consistency of customer facing messaging and materials. - Ensure compliance with Spanish consumer laws as relates to marketing tactics. - Pro-actively manage partnerships with leading consumer portals and affiliates. - Develop a continuous in-depth knowledge in the areas of acquisition (suspects, leads, prospects) and retention (satisfaction, up-sell/cross sell, referral/word-of-mouth). - Meet or exceed defined targets; and report on performance of the marketing investment. - Develop effective working relationships with colleagues across the organisation (e.g. Product, PR, Database), and in particular marketing peers in other countries by contributing to and learning about best practices. - Lead, manage, develop and evaluate a team of 2 initially.
