IE University (IEU) is a private university with campuses located in Segovia and Madrid (Spain). IEU programs are run in English and Spanish and are compliant with the terms of the European Higher Education Area (Bologna Accords). The University is comprised of five schools, the School of Global and Public Affairs is one of them. Its portfolio includes several bachelor and master programs in international relations, economics, sustainable development, global trade, and public administration. Beyond teaching, the School hosts the Transatlantic Relations Initiative (developed in partnership with Harvard’s Kennedy School) and its observatories on Latin America, EU, USA, and Canada; the PublicTech Lab, which promotes GovTech and facilitates the entrance of social innovators and entrepreneurs in the public sector; and the Center for the Governance of Change, which is transversal to the whole University and seeks to enhance our ability to manage innovation, promote good governance of emerging technologies and navigate exponential change in political, economic and societal domains.
The Associate Director for Events, Contents, and Outreach will support the Vice Dean of Management & Development in the implementation of the School´s strategy. His/her duties will include the organization and management of events, the development of specific content (particularly presentations), support with the design and deployment of a communications strategy, and diverse activities related to day-to-day operations of the School, including supporting its partnership ecosystem and affiliated Centers and initiatives.
The Director will be part of the management team of the SGPA and the GCC, will report to the Vice Dean of Management & Development of SGPA, and work closely with the Director of Contents and Communities of the SGPA. He/she will liaise with transversal departments of IE University such as Communications, Admissions, Marketing, Corporate Relations, International Development, and IE Foundation.
Key Action Areas
Related to the School of Global and Public Affairs
• Coordination of events, conferences, and seminars: preparation of programs, reservation of spaces, liaison with participants, management of invitations, logistical and protocol support.
• Coordination of the review and implementation of the School’s communications strategy to reinforce its brand, position, outreach, and impact.
• Preparation of presentations and documentation.
• Liaison with external publications, PRs, and other key stakeholders.
• Review and improvement of the communication approach with alumni, faculty, students, and external communities, building close relationships with key players and identifying “stories worth telling” to enhance the work and position of the School.
• Generation of contents, support to manage the School’s social media platforms, and periodic publication of relevant news for the School’s website, social networks, media campaigns, and other strategic channels.
• Representation of the School and liaison with other departments, mainly Admissions, Communications, Marketing, Corporate Relations, International Development, and IE Foundation, ensuring that content aligns with the School’s positioning and build up its funnel of new admissions.
• Mainstreaming of the sustainability agenda in the School, and support to the design and implementation of related programs, initiatives, and activities.
Requisitos
Requirements:
• Master’s degree from a top university.
• Previous professional experience in events organization and management, including protocol ability.
• Previous professional experience in communications and outreach.
• Previous professional experience in technical areas of global and public affairs, sustainability, and/or corporate governance will be a relevant asset.
• Proved mastery in the preparation of visual presentations, especially in PowerPoint.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to write effective communications materials and speeches on a broad range of topics related to the mission of the School and the Centre.
• Analytical skills and capability to multi-task and cope with a fast-paced changing environment under time pressure and dealing with complexity and diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, positive and collaborative attitude, creativity, pro-active initiative, and capacity to quickly address concerns, queries, and feedback in a constructive and action-oriented manner.
• Valid EU work permit.
• Basic knowledge and/or experience in production and edition of digital videos, audios, and/or graphics (this will be a valued asset, but not a requirement).
