Energy Technology Engineer for Grid Operation (m/f/d)

We are looking for you:

Ente Operador Regional (EOR), the Central American energy authority, is looking for your expertise to provide operational support for Central America’s energy transition. EOR has been responsible for power grid operation in Central America’s six Spanish-speaking countries since 2006. It therefore plays a vital role in regional integration in the energy sector, which is becoming more and more important due to Central America’s economic growth. With the increasing integration of variable renewable energy such as solar and wind energy, EOR is stepping up its efforts to transform the electricity network into a smart grid. To achieve this, technical standards must be adapted and staff capacities increased.

Your tasks will involve:

• Developing and implementing a structural concept for a regulatory framework and defining technical standards for reliable network operation
• Developing technical guidelines and contingency plans for use at the regional level
• Developing and implementing training measures, with a focus on real-time power grid management
• Refining regional standards for process visualisation

Your profile:

• University-level degree in engineering, electrical engineering, energy technology or another qualification relevant to the field
• Experience working for a grid operator, energy provider or a relevant regulatory authority
• Several years’ experience in the field of energy and quality management
• Extensive experience with technical standards and regulatory frameworks
• Fluent business English and, ideally, good Spanish
