Funciones

To support our Thermo King business Globally, and more specifically the Marine Product activities, we are seeking to hire an Engineering Team Leader.

Job Summary:
This position will oversee the engineering team responsible for Refrigeration Units and Solutions for Marine applications, and will manage both assigned internal and external resources effectively to meet objectives.

This person will be a key leader in coordinating and managing multiple projects simultaneously, and providing the strategic direction to the team in order to meet goals. This person will be integral to the success of the Marine product line, and will work across functions, locations, and regions to ensure global alignment/synergies.


Key Responsibilities:

•	Manage a functional team of Design, Refrigeration, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineers and Prototype Technicians;
•	Conduct development of new products and extensions of current products, systems and components; Complete assessment of environmental impact of designed products and identify energy efficiency gains to minimize affect in atmosphere;
•	Provide technical leadership to meet engineering requirements for schedule, direct product cost, project cost, and keeping quality and reliability as a key factor; pursue new development in all engineering and manufacturing technologies;
•	Coordinate each phase of complex design projects involving complete systems and other team leads to prioritize overall requirements and reallocate resources accordingly;
•	Provide management and project sponsors with appropriate, timely, and accurate updates on project status and plans, including monthly reports, gate review records, and resource requirements;
•	Communicate effectively with teams and within management structure to facilitate workflow and overcome project barriers; take responsibility for the continuing development of core team;
•	Ensure strong development and engagement of team, celebrating individual and team successes, and creating strong action plans from the employee engagement survey;
•	Plan, manage and execute the department budget according plan and forecast.

Requisitos

Qualifications and Requirements: 

•	Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) with 10+ years’ experience in design, leadership, and project execution;
•	Experience either with refrigeration systems or with the marine logistical environment a requirement.  Combination of both a strong asset;
•	Direct personal management of a small to medium sized technical team with direct lines of reporting a plus;
•	Demonstrated high level of technical project management and high communication skills in a multi-location environment;
•	Clearly demonstrated ability to lead, facilitate, organize, and motivate multiple teams toward common goals, in a project environment as well as with a direct reporting line;
•	Ability to embrace and utilize diversity (cultural and/or otherwise) to empower others to achieve results; strong skills in working with multicultural team environment;
•	Excellent interpersonal and persuasion skills, both verbal and written, and experience with team processes and facilitation;
•	Strong PC skills with strong knowledge and previous utilization of project management software (MS Project) and a thorough understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (Windchill) requirements
•	Proficiency in English is required, Spanish a plus; ability to travel 15 to 20%.
