Important Real Estate multinational company is looking for a Finance Director based in Madrid. Experience in Real Estate sector is very desirable. Very high English level is a must.


The key objective of the Finance Director is to manage the day-to-day finance operation of the Spanish business and the overall financial position of its JV's. This will include responsibility for leading on all aspects of reporting (both to JV and to the Group), compliance, tax and structuring related to the JV, treasury management, and leading on all finance matters related to transactions (acquisitions, developments and refinancing). The role will also have a key responsibility in supporting in capital partner stakeholder management.

The role will be a key member of the Spanish Executive, and will be based in Madrid with travel within Spain and to the UK as necessary.

Reporting to the Head of Country in Spain, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities:

Financial Control & Regulatory Compliance

 * Overall financial control of the JV portfolio in Spain, and the Group companies themselves.
 * Working closely with the Financial Controller for EMEA, responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of control systems, policies and procedures to ensure all accounting, record keeping and payments/receipts are managed accurately and securely, including documentation of the said policies.
 * Work with EMEA Finance to ensure that accounting entries across the Region are accurate, inter-company positions are reconciled and that any Group queries are resolved.
 * Responsibility for accounts filing, tax compliance and transfer pricing adherence for all companies within Spain liaising with specialist advisors where necessary.
 * Responsibility for ensuring that all companies within the structure which require audit have one completed in the required timescale, liaising with auditors, fund administrators and EMEA Finance to manage it efficiently.

 Performance Management

 * Responsible for periodic review and challenge to performance, both operational and development progress, reviewing results and holding the business to account for KPI variance.
 * Business partnering with Commercial Operations and Real Estate to support on business improvement opportunities, including liaising with external providers/suppliers.
 * Annual budget and forecast process.
 * Provision of management accounts for the Spanish companies on a timely and accurate basis for review by the local Board and EMEA.

 Fund Management

 * In conjunction with the Head of Spain and the wider business, lead on the production of business plans, new acquisition/development proposals, and re-financing related to the Spanish Fund.
 * Responsible for investment performance reporting as outlined in the JV documents i.e. quarterly investor reporting packs, including from asset level to JV.
 * Responsible for monitoring compliance with bank funding and covenant obligations and that payments are always met.
 * Support the relationship with the Fund capital partner, ensuring all performance information and business updates/plans are shared and that the relationship is pro-actively managed.
 * Responsible for investor capital management, including capital calls, distributions, analysis of cash requirements and surplus funds.
 * Working with Corporate Finance, lead on relationship management of all in-country banking arrangements, the reporting and compliance with existing banking and any re-financing requirements.


 * Work with EMEA Finance and other business areas to ensure the financial integration and optimisation of finance and booking systems.
 * Work with EMEA Finance as we seek to evolve our view of the best fit of support from local to regional to group.
 * Manage and develop a small team of accounting staff.
 * Assist with the budgeting and forecasting processes across the EMEA business, 


Experienced senior finance leader in a growth company. Corporate Finance expertise, treasury management and reporting to lenders under a facility agreement. Very high English level is a must.
