Financial and Accounting Controller in an International growing Company in Barcelona area as a Responsible for Reporting and Compliance functions

* Responsible for the entity's compliance with laws and regulations applicable as a Spanish Sales Office; Managing all administrative processes in line with corporate rules and policies

 * Partner with the business, focusing support with analysis and insight on new business initiatives like Retail, Rental, and Services. Also support the sales organization on the continuing high growth trade business with the appropriate data and analysis

 * Enforce financial discipline/guidelines, process, internal controls and policies within the Spanish entity

 * Manage and coach the Spanish Finance team

 * Manage the entity's Balance Sheet risks. Focusing on proper accounting for Inventory, Receivables, Warranties/liabilities requiring management estimates and ensuring there are no unrecorded assets or liabilities

 * Ensure reliability of financial reporting through controlled monthly/quarterly financial closing of actuals and proper variance analysis

 * Own the financial planning process for your Sales Office (budget and forecasts)

 * Support transition from current older systems to new integrated ERP solution 2017/2018

With your team, you will perform the following key activities to manage the entity's risks

 * Manage inventory levels to limit obsolescence avoidance and minimized costs of ware-housing, transport/logistics

 * Order processing and invoicing, and proper revenue recognition / Sales cut-off

 * Perform customer credit approval and collection. While protecting the customer master data, provide approval for new customers' credit limits and modifications. On collections, process and manage payments received, reconciling finance accounts and direct debits. Perform daily follow-up of past dues and ensure formalize timely action on non-responsive delinquent accounts (with possible legal proceedings)

 * Vendor invoice payment. Ensure proper payment release controls on recurring and ad hoc operating expenses including Payroll, T&E, marketing, rent/utilities, logistical costs,…

 * Ensure completeness of all significant liabilities and provisions recorded on the Balance Sheet (including Warranties, losses from unfulfilled sales commitments)

 * Control investments made / capital expenditures request preparation, and protect cash (Bank reconciliation) and other company assets from hazard and fraud

 * Perform reconciliation of Interco transactions (purchases of machines) and corporate X-charge

 * Key involvement required in annual budgeting process

 * Submit reliable and transparent monthly forecasts of the Spanish business activities to the International Finance team/Group (P&L and cash forecasts)


Perfil del candidato

* Proven relevant experience (5+ years) with some hands-on transaction processing and financial closing, in a sales driven environment preferably

 * Strong local statutory finance knowledge with some knowledge/previous exposure to US GAAP

 * Experience management Balance Sheet risks

 * Fluent in English - Other languages are an asset

 * IT affinity and proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools, especially Excel and database management

 * Self-starter, able to prioritize and carry out multiple tasks accurately and within deadlines.

 * Must possess excellent communication skills and be patient, professional and courteous when faced with an adverse situation

 * Must be customer oriented, goal oriented, reliable, self-motivated and able to multi-task effectively

 * High business involvement

 * Capable to partner with and challenge his/her peers. Team management experience is a plus
