Global Sales Director, HPP (m/f)

to an increased complexity and growth, we are looking for a new Global Sales Director for High-Pressure Pumps, to take the responsibility for all strategic and tactical management of our Global Sales organization.

Then Danfoss Cooling Segment (DCS) – High-Pressure Pumps (HPP), could be the next step in your career. We are on the lookout for a solid leadership profile who can develop, coach and execute our sales strategy in a global scale. To be a success in this position we expect you to:

  • Secure a profitable growth according to business perspective and plans; +20% annual revenue growth and secure baseline business and profit.
  • Develop a high-performance sales organization with strong capability in creating organic growth and reduction of complexity in process and engagement model.
  • Structure our business process orientation with efficient and effective utilization of financial and human resources.

You will be part of a truly global company and lead a team of 25-30 professionals; you must expect an extended number of travel days and your work location will be flexible. Preferable your local base is close to a Danfoss HPP location within Europe.

Drive and develop a strong sales organization ensuring superior performance
You report directly to the Vice President, Head of HPP and will be part of the Leadership Team, contributing actively to continuous development of HPP business. Your mission is to realize defined targets for sales, contribution and profitable growth globally. You will drive a change process in the sales organization, aimed at optimizing structure, effectiveness and competence development by effective leadership, organizational development, competence building and performance management. Furthermore, it is your responsibility to develop the tactical regional growth plans as well as our project sales plans supporting the overall growth ambition of HPP. Key tasks will be:

  • Drive profitable growth.
  • Define and align sales growth strategy with overall HPP strategy.
  • Lead development of sales strategies, review and advice on policies of pricing, product mix, sales channels and brand portfolio.
  • Continuously analyze market development and business opportunities, define target market segments and customer groups.
  • Strengthen sales force and develop own team members’ professional and personal competencies, including setting up personal development plans.
  • Secure establishing a cross border and Key Account sales organization, where synergies are utilized in an optimal way globally.
  • Develop and professionalize interfaces and collaboration across HPPs value chain from R&D to Production, Distribution and Sales and Services.
  • Measure and improve performance based on strong performance management.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

Substantial leadership and sales experience from a global and technical organization 

There is more than one way in to this position, but you need to hold a relevant commercial and/or engineering background on bachelor’s or master’s level. Ideally combined with additional international education in sales management, key account management and business management in general (MBA or similar). Your track record reveals proven results and documented experience as a sales leader in an international organization with business-to-business sales in a technical field. Your solid knowledge and communication skills gives you the ability to work cross functionally in a truly global setup and insight in sales excellence such as sales tools, process and business management.
Your personal impact enables you to motivate people around you, and since you are highly self-driven, you thrive working independently and you hold the bigger overview that will secure a successful outcome.

Danfoss HPP is a part of the Industry Business area organized under the Cooling segment. HPP designs and supplies a comprehensive range of high-pressure pumps, energy recovery devices and valves for high-pressure applications within reverse osmosis, ultra-pure water and tap water. The products are manufactured in Denmark, where the headquarter for Danfoss Cooling Segment is located and sold world-wide.
 
Since 2010, the business produces annual growth rates in the level of 15-20 pct., and HPP has a very ambitious growth plan for the coming years focused on reverse osmosis, humidification, gas turbine and cleaning applications. The sales channels are comprised of direct business to OEMs and EPCs as well as a network of distributors. Each of these segments and channels should be served effectively and with an ambition of growth, and development of the sales organization plays a central in this intent.
