Funciones

Duties: Incumbent controls access to the main chancery building, provides administrative support to the Post Security Officer, and serves as the Consulate’s main switchboard operator.

Requisitos

Qualifications and Evaluations:

Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific information supporting each item.  Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified. 

Requirements: 

Education:  High school degree.  

Experience: Two years of administrative, clerical, receptionist, switchboard, or security-related work.   

Job Knowledge: Multi-line telephone system. General office computer software. The countries of Spain and Andorra and especially of the Consular District. Local police structure. Communication devices and equipment. Effective human relations and communication techniques. General record keeping and filing systems. Regional Security Office – RSO’s office security practices/Standard Operating Procedures. Knowledge of Department of State Diplomatic Security procedures and regulations and relevant Foreign Affairs Manual citations. Operation of security and communication equipment. 

Evaluations: 

Language: Level 3 (good working knowledge) of English speaking/reading/writing.  Level 4 (fluent) of Spanish speaking/reading/writing. This will be tested.   

Skills and abilities: Maintains accurate records. Establish positive relations. Speak Spanish/English clearly and succinctly. Identify security issues and respond accordingly. Respond in a calm and effective manner. Explain instructions and guidelines effectively to others. Obtain, retain, and analyze information from D 

Distraught, distressed, or incoherent callers. Be customer service oriented. Possess excellent organizational skills, judgement and be able to resolve problems independently. Work autonomously as per office instructions. Telephone operator skills.
