We are looking for a

Head of Research & Development (m/f)

Frankfurt (Main) area

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Management of the Process Development and Process Commissioning Team in the field of large area coating (Glass & R2R)
  • Independent planning and execution of complex machine developments, including the development of components and coating processes for thin film applications (Sputtering, PECVD- and thermal evaporative technologies)
  • Evaluation and determination of business and product portfolio strategies 
  • Planning and implementation of customer sample processing projects in our Application Center
  • Support for our Sales, Product Management and Design Department
  • Summary of development results, e.g. for professional articles, presentations, customer events or conferences
  • Internal and external professional supervision of process-commissioning activities
  • Evaluation and administration of patents

Qualifications

  • Master degree or Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in the development of vacuum machines and coating processes as well as in the PVD separation of thin layers
  • Leadership experience
  • Proficient German- and English language skills
  • Willingness to travel worldwide 
  • Structured, independent and reliable working structure
