Funciones

Duties: 

The incumbent serves as an investigator and an advisor to the Regional Security Officer (RSO) in connection with host-nation law enforcement and security matters.

Requisitos

Qualifications and Evaluations:

Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific information supporting each item.  Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.

Education:  Minimum of two years of university-level studies.


Requirements:

Experience:  Minimum of five (5) years of administrative, security or investigative experience including at least two years in a law enforcement or private security setting.

Job Knowledge:  Must possess a working knowledge of U.S. Government regulations pertaining to security at diplomatic missions and must be knowledgeable of U.S. Embassy Madrid security policies and standards. Should have familiarity with Spanish civil and criminal laws, the court system, and policies to resolve security-related issues and conduct investigations. Should be able to establish and maintain contacts with Spanish law enforcement, private sector security, and counterparts at other diplomatic missions.

Evaluations:

Language:  Level 3 of English speaking/reading/writing.  Level 4 of Spanish speaking/reading/writing. This may be tested.  

Skills and abilities: Must be able to draft routine and non-standard written communications such as investigative reports and informational security products in Spanish and English; must exercise a high level or oral communicative ability in Spanish and English on a daily basis; will establish and maintain an extensive network of security contacts in law enforcement and the private sector. Must exercise initiative and resourcefulness in daily tasks. Must possess standard computer skills with proficiency in all Microsoft applications such as Excel, Sharepoint, Word and PowerPoint. Must be able to obtain a Spanish firearm permit if necessary.
