North American company is expanding its business in Europe and is seeking for a Principal Statistical Modeler, to join their team in Madrid.


Description

This position is responsible for insuring the highest possible statistical rigor is practiced throughout the analytical product development cycle. The incumbent also provides analytics consultation and results interpretation across Business Verticals, Product Management, Data Fabrication, and Data Acquisition teams as well as various analytical teams. This position will also provide R&D direction for alternative modeling methodologies to improve product performance, explore incremental data sources and predict new targets. This position also supports the analytical sales efforts through comprehensive design, results and analytic capabilities presentations as necessary.


Profile

Qualifications: 
 Masters degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics or quantitative methods (or equivalent years experience required) 
 12+ years Expert in data analysis and manipulation, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis 
 1. Applied modeling and analytics experience in applicable industry. Previous experience in an analytical leadership role. 
 2. Expert user of SAS, SPSS or equivalent analytic software. 
 3. Thorough understanding of various statistical methodologies including linear regression, logistic regression, neural networks, and CHAID/CART. 
4. Thorough understanding of the regulatory environment, internal policies and procedures of perspective clients, and a keen understanding of the markets within which company operates. 
 6. Excellent analytical and project management skills. 
 7. Prior experience managing performers and managing managers. 
 8. Outstanding written and oral communication skills including Customer-facing and teleconference presentation skills. 
 9. Fluency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word. 

Fluent English and Spanish is a must. German, Italian or French are desirable.

 

Accountabilities: 
 Expert at applying statistical techniques to LN data assets to develop industry leading products. They also work directly with the business verticals and product management teams to provide industry leading generic and custom analytic product offerings. 
 
 1. Leads the test design, development effort, validation, results presentation, and production phases of analytically developed products and models. This includes all periodic validation exercises as dictated by either internal mandate, regulatory or client desire. 
 2. Interacts with senior internal and external contacts to influence and lead model and analytical project development efforts; clearly articulates company scoring capabilities 
 3. Ensures appropriate documentation, testing, and analysis has been completed and communicated to Vertical, Product, and Operational Teams to support go to market activities. 
 4. Provides technical leadership for Modeling and analytical Sales Support using sound understanding of relevant statistical techniques. 
 5. Keeps Senior Executive Management appraised of progress through effective communication of status and next steps on all generic and custom model development efforts in support of sales opportunities and product development initiatives. 
 6. Maintains understanding of the competitive landscape within the scoring and analytics markets. 
 7. Influences peers, subordinates, and superiors without direct managerial authority
