Funciones

The project planner / cost control engineer will be involved in the project to build up and start up facilites for a chemical industry. A chlorine production plant throught a membrane cell process.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the world's largest chemical companies. Focused in the production of different chemical products.

The project planner / cost control engineer will work in the site located in the Barcelona metropolitan area and focused in the PVC production.

Project is now in the basic engineering phase (BE). An estimated period of 2 years is expected for the start-up. Approx. budget 100 M€. There is a cross functional team to drive this project.
The project planner / cost control engineer will join this team. Full dedication to the project.

Main tasks as project planner will be:
-To develop and maintain detailed resource loaded schedules (Gantt, milestone charts, and other tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work, priority based resource allocations, performance variances) of Design/Build construction projects. Working closely Project Manager.
-Integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule.
-Collect and analyze information to prepare reports on the progress of projects. Frequent on-site visits to review construction progress required.
-Support the project management team in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects.
-Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems.
-Maintain accurate records/paperwork.

Main tasks as cost control will be:
-Responsible to control and monitor project total expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
-Provide expenses planning and realize complete cost control including all variations reporting and the expenditures forecasts.
-Provide the project manager with the information needed to identify and anticipate any deviations from the budget.
-Prepare the budget breakdown, based on the budget issued at the end of basic engineering phase. 
The project planner / cost control engineer needs skills in: construction planner experience; level III and level IV planning experience; project cost control experience; excellent communication; strong organizational, analytical, and writing skills; demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to sudden changes in priorities and to simultaneous tasks; and skills to contribute to a positive and productive team environment.

Global and multicultural internal stakeholders and suppliers. So, a competent level of English language knowledge is necessary. English is the project language.

Requisitos

-Bachelor’s o equivalent degree/experience combination in constructions and/or engineering.
-Minimum 5 years of construction planner experience and/or cost control experience.
-Levels III and IV planning experience.
-Knowledge of project planner software (MS Project, Primavera,...)
-Strong organizational, analytical, and writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications.
-Flexibility and adaptability in work style. Able to contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
-Advanced level of English language.
-Independent user of Spanish language will be appreciated.
