Funciones

The person will be an integral team member in the growth and innovation efforts of the North American cluster and will be in charge of:
 * Developing new products and processes or modifying existing products in the Telecom & Energy portfolio to meet market and specific customer need.
 * Demonstrated abilities to make long lasting relationships with current and new customers in effort to benefit both companies.
 * Serve as project lead on new R&D projects that are strategic to growth and success of the business.
 * Serve as liaison and subject matter expert between the business units and manufacturing locations both internal and external.
 * Serve as technical resource to other upstream manufacturing technologies to improve current and new performance capabilities.

Requisitos

Skills & experience required:
 * Bachelor's degree in Polymer science, Textile Engineering/Technology, Textile Science, Textile Design, Industrial Engineering/Design, Material Science or related field + 3 years' relevant work experience (or equivalent background and experience.
 * Requires knowledge and hands-on experience in own discipline; Familiarity with the state-of-the-art technologies in extrusion, textile engineering and manufacturing, coatings, and common post-production techniques.
 * Master's degree + 3 years' relevant experience is preferred.
 * Experience in manufacturing and new product development of engineered yarns and fabrics using textile fibers and coatings. Particular experience in extrusion coating and die-design is preferred.
 * Good communication skills and ability to interface with all stakeholders in the development process including customers, manufacturing associates across multiple locations, sales & marketing group, and other development engineers to successfully and efficiently expedite samples through processing while meeting company and customers' objectives and goals.
 * Utilize product development stage-gate system to maintain the documentation necessary to implement new processes / products into commercial mainstream production.
 * Experience in the capture of intellectual property as patents for materials, products and/or processes.
 * Strong team orientation and ability to collaborate.
 * Good presentation skills to convey project details (status, timelines, financial data, etc.).
 * Ability to analyze samples and determine construction and yarn characteristic information into product specifications. 
 * Highly motivated, self-driven, and open-minded individual who is capable of accomplishing tasks and projects in a limited supervision environment
 * Typical day trips to manufacturing locations but also overnight trips to customers or market events as required.
 * Strong computer skills related to data entry and tracking (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
