Funciones

Responsible for the general accounting function including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the CFO in carrying out the reporting.


Description

1/ General Accounting

 * Ensure accounting operations are accurately, completely and timely processed on a daily basis.
 * Manage the accounting and reporting operations, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and overseeing all transactions related to the GL and month-end.
 * Ensure a high level of quality in the general accounts, sub-ledgers and analytical accounts.
 * Produce year-end statutory accounts under Spanish Gaap.
 * Reconcile account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures.
 * Ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded.
 * Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency.
 * Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports.
 * Assisting the Head of Accounting with developing and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
 * Ensure compliance with GAAP principles 

2/ Month-end process

 * Carry-out the month end closing, documenting and posting accruals and provisions to adjust the financial statements in accordance with Spanish GAAP and IFRS.
 * Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
 * Reconcile revenues and direct costs between the accounting system and the other platforms (invoicing / business platforms).
 * Assist with recording journal entries and compiling data for the financial statement.
 * Perform P&L analytical reviews to ensure the figures are consistent and explain variances 

3/ Reporting

 * Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate standards and regulatory requirements.
 * Provide accounts details for general accounting and sub-ledgers.
 * Work closely with the business controller regarding reporting preparation and budget planning. 

4/ Local taxes

 * In charge of the timely filling of VAT returns, and tax package for Spain and other countries


Profile

Requirements and Qualifications:

 * Bachelor in Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
 * Proficiency in NetSuite accounting software.
 * 10 years experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area.
 * Mandatory fluency in English.
 * Strong verbal and written communication skills.
 * Strong knowledge of IFRS, Spanish Gaap and Spanish taxes required.
